Under the theme: “Governance in Turbulent Times”, the conference will focus on the important role corporate governance can play in addressing the region’s pressing challenges, and in sustaining the region’s growth and development. The conference will examine emerging corporate governance global issues and trends, regional corporate governance developments and the challenges of implementation, and the latest corporate governance developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The conference will bring in international corporate governance practitioners, regulators and experts to identify regional issues in order to advance better corporate governance practices.  We aim to examine the challenges of governance under different ownership patterns such as family businesses versus publicly listed companies and the role of effective boards in balancing strategy and oversight. Within these larger topics, case studies will be presented relating to various sectors including banks and Islamic financial institutions, listed companies, state owned enterprises, family-owned enterprises, and small and medium enterprises and their related stakeholders.

The conference will be an occasion where regional participants will debate the extent of corporate governance implementation in the region and aim to set the regional corporate governance agenda.
